Everything you need to know about how PeePal handles your data.
Last updated: 1 April 2025
Data Retention Overview
PeePal stores all your health data exclusively on your device using Apple Core Data. PeePal does not operate servers that hold your health data. There is no cloud database, no synchronisation service managed by PeePal, and no data retention period to disclose because the data never leaves your device.
What stays on your device
- All logged bathroom visits, times, and notes
- Fluid intake records
- App preferences and settings
- Derived insights and pattern data
iCloud backup
If you have iCloud backup enabled on your device, your PeePal data may be included in your device backup as encrypted data managed entirely by Apple. PeePal never accesses this backup data. Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy governs this storage.
Deleting your data
To delete all your PeePal data, uninstall the app. If you have iCloud backup, you can also remove the backup separately through your iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Analytics (optional, consent-gated)
PeePal may collect anonymous, non-health usage analytics via PostHog, subject to your consent. This data contains no health information, no personal identifiers, and is stored on PostHog's EU-based infrastructure. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app's Settings.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how PeePal ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the PeePal mobile application and this website.
The short version
Your health data never leaves your device. We do not collect, store, or process your personal health information on any server we operate. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
Information we do not collect
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials (there is no account)
- Your bathroom visit logs, fluid intake records, or health data
- Your location
- Your Apple Health or HealthKit data beyond on-device processing
Information we may collect (with consent)
If you consent to analytics, we may collect anonymous usage events through PostHog (EU infrastructure). These events include interactions with the app interface — for example, which screens you visit — but never include health data, personal identifiers, or your IP address in a way that identifies you.
Crash reporting
PeePal uses Sentry for crash and error reporting. Crash reports contain technical diagnostic information (device type, OS version, stack trace). Personal health data is scrubbed before transmission. Sentry's retention policy applies to crash reports.
This website
This website does not use cookies. It does not run analytics scripts. If you contact us by email, we receive and store your email address solely to reply to you.
Children
PeePal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page if this policy changes. Continued use of PeePal after a change constitutes acceptance.
